Okay I have actually had a few emails and messages asking me some photog questions lately, so I am going to do a post on some of the questions :)
Question #1- What is in your bag?
*Nikon D300
*Nikon 85mm 1.8
*Nikon 50mm 1.4
*Nikon 17-55mm DX 2.8
*SB 600 flash
*Gary Fong Lightsphere (collapsible)
*Extra Batteries and CF cards
There you are that is what live in my bag :) To be honest with you though, the flash and lightsphere collect dust :) I only use them when forced and a night time wedding. I have a goal this year to dive into the working of off camera flash, so maybe it will get a little more use :)
Now I am a prime girl! So 99% of the time either the 85mm or 50mm is hooked to my camera. I love how fast they are, and how wide open I can get. Lets be honest I love to shoot wide open if you haven't noticed ;)
The zoom lens I break out for weddings, or vacations that sort of thing, but I don't use it very often since I mostly specialize in Children's and Family photography.
What kind of studio lighting do you have?
NONE, anything studio is window light :) I am a natural light kind of girl :)
What software do you use?
I own Lightroom 2 (thinking about upgrading to 3, I hear the noise reduction is awesome). I use it mainly to sort, and do a few batch edits. I edit out of lightroom to CS5. Yep, I am up to date on my photoshop, and I love it :)
Do you edit all of your photographs or is that out of camera?
LOL!!!! Sorry, but if a camera could do that I would be out of a job! I hand edit every single image! Each image takes me about 3 to 5 minutes to edit. I used to be longer while I was still trying to find my specific style. Every once in a while I'll play around with new things. I like a bold contrasting look to my photos and prefer when my customers wear a lot of color. It is what my clients expect, and what I love! If I can give any advice to other photogs it's find your style and stick to it.
Well those are the four main questions I've been getting asked lately. If you have any others you are interested in know feel free to leave a comment and I'll answer it as best as I can :) Thanks

Window light!?!?! I think you just made my day. I have been following Angela Monson's blog for over a year now and I have fallen in love with her style. My photography tends to look the same. I think my eyes are in love with sharp focus and COLOR! Your pictures remind me so much of Angela's style. I love it! I just wish you lived close to Iowa so you could photograph my little one. Thanks for the inspiration.
