Session Information and Frequently asked questions
If you are interested in booking a session, this is the best time for me to schedule with you?
Depending on the time of year I am usually booked 4-6 weeks in advance. If you are interested in booking with me please schedule as soon as possible to help ensure the time and date you would prefer is still available. Your session is not booked until you have paid your booking fee. The remainder of your session fee is due at the time of your session.
Where should we take my photos?
I have many different options and locations for your photos. Location plays a major role in the overall feel and look of your images, that's why it's so important. We will work together to choose a place that fits your personality and works with the clothing you choose for your photos. I am an on location photographer so I shoot outside with natural light. If one of my locations is not what you're looking for, please make a suggestion and I will gladly oblige!
What should we wear?
Clothing is key to having a great photograph. It is important to stay true to your style, but you should try to lean a little more on the extreme side for pictures. I suggest going toward rich bright colors and not getting too matchy. Textured clothing and layered clothing always look nice, and they both help add depth and interest to your photos! For families, I always suggest getting out a box of colored pencils and playing with different color combos. You want colors to be complementary without being too matching. Don't be afraid to add a POP of color for an unexpected punch! Textures and layers also work very well for families. I like the final image to be colorful, and fun. I know how hard it can be to put your final look together and I LOVE doing it, so if all else fails ask me :) I would love to give you advice or help put your outfits together with you for children or families. I am always available for email/phone or in person consultations. A few suggestions for children's clothing are: Zara.com, Old Navy, GAP, RUUM.com, Target, and Children’s Place. Don't be afraid to mix and match brands too! I know a lot of people love pettiskirts, for their girls! I have two in red and bright pink, but have found the best price at Koolkloz.com if you’d like your own.
What time of the day do you shoot?
I like to work during the evening hours which allows for the best natural light. This is usually in the last 2 hours before the sun sets.
What can I expect to happen at our session?
I like for all of my sessions to be as relaxed as possible. Ultimately I like to have the real you show up in the pictures, it's okay to relax, I promise I'll take care of you! There will always be times I will ask your family to just play around with each other while I stand back and take shots. It always makes the best pictures when a family shows their love for one another. I love to allow children to just be themselves. There will be times that I want them to look at the camera and there will be times I will prefer that they just be themselves. Try to keep in mind that when you are stressed out, your kids will be too! It happens to the best of us, and I promise to get great shots if you just have fun and relax. Remember, the best pictures are the ones where they show their true personalities!
What happens after the session?
Depending on a MINI session or a REGULAR.........After your mini session I will have 10 (or 12 if it's a family mini) of your best images in color for you to view in an online gallery within 14 business days of your session. You will then get a CD of these images and a print release. If you book a regular session you will have 25-30 images in both color and black and white in a gallery within the 14 days. I do offer professional printing as well. I have yet to see any local printer who can get the color match and quality of my prints!
Senior Sessions…..
If you are interested in booking a unique senior session don’t hesitate! Having your senior session with me is such a fun way to show your style and personality. Senior sessions range anywhere from 1-2 hours and are shot at the location or multiple locations of your choice. Bring a handful of outfits and anything that you would like to have in your pictures with you (for example, if you play the guitar bring it along!) I love to showcase your true personality and style, whether that be more fashionable, urban, classic you name it!
